Our hayrides are the centerpiece of Maple Ridge Farm events. Cal and Linda enjoy every minute of helping you
have a fun day at one of the Maple Ridge Farm parks. Perhaps this is why we've made so many new friends
who return year after year. We have events in the morning, afternoon, evening, or all day. We can truly cater
to your needs.
A typical Maple Ridge Farm hayride evening event might go something like this...
Your group has decided to make an evening out of it. Everyone shows up around 4:30 or 5:00. You plug your
crock pot in and load up the refrigerator with food and drinks. Maybe you take a minute to set out your paper
plates, silverware, and cups.
As folks gather, the adults start warming up the grills and take some time to visit or "catch up" on recent (or
not so recent) events. The kids might start-up a game of volleyball, soccer, horseshoes, hide and seek, "kick
the can", or some other fun activity. They're only limited by their imaginations!
After an hour or two, the grills are ready and everyone has worked up an appetite. You enjoy some hot dogs
and hamburgers with the baked beans and pulled pork from the crock pot. Mary swears she made the potato
salad from scratch, but it tastes an awful lot like the stuff you love from HyVee. Either way, it's wonderful!
After dinner you toss your plates and cups in the trash and Cal pulls up with the hayracks. With a full belly and
a smile, everyone settles in for a fun ride through the beautiful countryside hidden away just north of Marion,
Iowa.
After the hayride, the adults gather around the fire Linda tended to while you were away. Of course, the kids
and their boundless energy run off to play in the park.
Nightfall approaches, and Linda turns on the lights (or not) to brighten up the park. It's time for S'MORES!
You put a little assembly line together...
The kids roast their marshmallows to their liking and bring them over to get "smooshed" between the graham
crackers and just on top of that Hershey Bar. They're absolutely yummy! The night winds down and families
get cozy as they're mesmerized by the fire. You've just enjoyed a fabulous day, your tummy is full, and you're
ready to head home for a good night's sleep.
This is just one example of one of our hayride events. We're fun, flexible, and will adapt to your needs.
